I couldn't resist a close-up. Posted by Picasa

This pretty dress is from a Madame Alexander Cissette. I bought it on a MA Wendy doll for a quarter. It fits Chloe perfectly. Posted by Picasa

This outfit was borrowed from my travel doll Sara. Sara is a 5 1/2" Nancy Ann Storybook Doll, so the skirt is quite a bit longer on her. Posted by Picasa

A quick change into one of the sweaters I made while waiting for Chloe to arrive. I adapted a raglan cardigan pattern to include the flared waist and sleeves. The hat is one of the few things I've ever crocheted. I made it for 18" dolls fromiDoll a couple of years ago. Posted by Picasa

Here she is in front of a hooked rug my great-aunt made in the thirties. Chloe is wearing American Girl Josefina's hat and Girls of Many Lands, Neela's sari top and jewelry. The jeans and phone are from an outfit I got at Dollar General for $2. I'm going to be prowling the doll aisles there and at Wal-mart for more cheap finds she can wear. Posted by Picasa

After being so excited to have a Blythe, I was a bit let down when she arrived. I decided that her hair was too long and a bit greasy feeling, so I washed it and cut it a bit. She is turning into a real mascot and has had a new outfit every day. Posted by Picasa

The first thing I did when Blythe, now called Chloe arrived was to try on every stitch of doll clothes laying around that I thought might fit her.  Posted by Picasa

Blythe Arrives on Bay Creek

A few months ago I saw a Blythe doll on a couple of crafting blogs. I was really intrigued especially with the outfits the people had sewn and knitted. I looked around to see how much they cost. When I realized that they came from Asia with the high shipping involved I cooled on the idea. Then a few weeks ago a friend sent me a link to a Ashton Drake Reproduction Blythe on sale in the states. A week later I had my Blythe. While I was waiting for her to arrive, I knitted four sweaters. She is a fun doll to dress.
